Since decades ago, Malaysia is committed to support Industry (Pharmaceutical & Medical Device) innovation through the delivery of Clinical Trials with Speed, Reliability & Quality. This is attributed by the formation of Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) a research management organisation wholly owned by Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2012. Since then, Malaysia has conducted over 2700 industry sponsored research (ISR), all amounting RM 1 billion of gross national income contributed through contract values of clinical trials agreements. The value proposition offered by Malaysia with a third of world genomics resides in the country, dedicated investigators & clinical research sites with world class achievements has attracted global clinical trials into the country from variety Global companies.

The greatest intangible value of ISR is where our patients gain access to developing innovative therapies, especially when all options are exhausted. The last 5 years we observed increase in Oncology clinical research. Respiratory has been coming back with interesting health solution innovation in multiple disease areas. 

The presentation will share what are the pulling factor to maintain Malaysia as ISR hub and what are the new opportunities in Respiratory ISR for the country
