Lung@ Pulmonary Hypoplasia in children is uncommon. It’s a congenital pulmonary pathology following any insult that disrupts normal pulmonary development. It can be a primary pulmonary or secondary pathology and often started in utero. The outcome of the condition depends on the severity of pulmonary hypoplasia and the underlying causes. The management principle involves supporting the respiratory system to aim for normal gas exchange (if possible), nutritional rehabilitation and infection control.
