Management of empyema thoracis is challenging for both the surgeons and physicians, especially if it is long-standing and multiloculated. The management depends on the local availability of expertise, resources and the patient’s condition. This lecture will discuss the options of fibrinolytics and VATS in the management of pleural infection – empyema thoracis.
